The afternoon festivities are all happening in the outdoor arts space, under the tented roof over the Annex featuring musical entertainment by the Achill Choral Society and the unveiling of a mosaic tapestry, showcasing a wall of over 80+, 6” x 8” canvas masterpieces created by Ontario artists and a few internationally submitted pieces.
Illuminare
Illuminare — Achill Celebrates Spring, Joy, Hope, and Peace
This spring, Achill is proud to present the Ontario premiere of Elaine Hagenberg’s exciting new work ILLUMINARE. Drawing on Latin, Greek and English texts, the piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in Peace. Continuing the themes of joy and hope, we’ll perform a delightful collection of folk songs arranged by Bob Chilcott, Ron Smail, Steven Hatfield and Paul Halley’s Song For Canada.
Please join us for an afternoon of uplifting music under the direction of Shawn Grenke and accompanied by Nancy Dettbarn on piano.
