ACS in person rehearsal 2022 May 08, perhaps our last of this season! Singalong warmup — 00;00 Click here for the ACS Singalong words 2022May15 we’ll be singing at the Avalon on Sunday May 15th at 3:00 P.M. in addition to the songs we’ve been practicing this last month in person. Keep an eye on your email for confirmation since we’ll be singing outdoors and the community concert will therefore be weather-dependent. |

Here’s the link to the video from our fourth in-person rehearsal, led by Shawn, with assistance from Nancy. Over 50 singers have been involved with Achill since we started live in-person rehearsals, plus another 5 or more who have continued through Zoom. That’s impressive! Away from the Roll 00:00

Here’s the link to the video recording of our second in-person rehearsal, this time led by Nancy Sicsic. When viewing this on YouTube, if you click on the ‘SHOW MORE” item right below the video, you will see the following text. Clicking on the numbers that are in blue on YouTube, will automatically take you to the start of that part of the rehearsal. Warmup: start During rehearsals, please reduce chatter between ourselves to a minimum. We need to respect our artistic staff, and we need to allow others to hear, even if we may think it’s not that important to pay attention to everything. Also, have a look at the Practice Sheet Music below for the link to Bridge Over Troubled Waters. This will be one of the pieces we focus on in the coming weeks. If you have the ability to print that off, please do so. Otherwise, let support@achill.ca know, and we’ll have a printed copy for you.

Here’s the link to the video recording of our first in-person rehearsal in two years from Sunday March 27th. I’m so glad that we not only had 32 singers harmonizing together in-person, but that we also had at least 12 singers via Zoom! We are trying to accommodate as many singers as possible, protecting everyone as much as we possibly can. (This recording is not the actual Zoom recording. It is instead a better quality recording that I did in parallel with the Zoom recording. It should sound much better!)

Audio only recordings from 2022 February 16. (My apologies for not having recordings from Feb 9th … I got an odd warning from Zoom that converting the raw recordings could damage my computer, a notice I'd not seen before. I cancelled the process, hoping to investigate before actually working on them. However my cancellation deleted the files, and I have not been able to recover them … I have since learned that this is a new warning from Zoom and that I can safely disregard the supposed danger.) |

Here are the audio-only recordings of the various parts of our first return this season to Zoom rehearsals. If you find these recordings useful, please let us know at support@achill.ca. Suggestions also welcome! |
PRACTICE SHEET MUSIC
Please do not share these pdfs of the music. These are for your personal use until we can get you physical copies of the music that we own.
We’re going to start with these uplifting songs! | ||

These additional numbers will add to what we will be working towards performing live later in the Spring. |
PRACTICE RECORDINGS (MP3 files for personal practicing)
We are not planning on doing any personal recordings, video or audio, this season. We continue to hope that we will be able to return to in-person rehearsals sometime during the Spring of 2022. We would like to aim for an actual concert sometime in May, probably quite small, and likely outdoors. So we will practicing using ZOOM until we can be back in-person — and then probably live-streaming the in-person rehearsals via ZOOM for those who aren’t returning in-person.

Thanks to Shawn for the first three of these tracks! (The Tenor and the Bass parts have been combined into one track.)
The last set of Rhythm of Life tracks are produced by Charles Weller, our Librarian, done with his method of scanning the music and using musical Optical Character Recogition (OCR) to capture each musical voice. I suggest trying both approaches — and please let me know which works best for you! suppport@achill.ca |

These tracks are produced by Charles Weller, our Librarian, done with his method of scanning the music and using musical Optical Character Recogition (OCR) to capture each musical voice. You’ll notice that there are two sets of mp3s for All the Little Rivers: The first set is at the tempo set by the composer/arranger. But as Charles explained to me, the words go by rather quickly, so the second set is slower (and is labelled as such). |
